“Artisan Screen Print” begins offering elite-level screen and trade printing with a commitment to exhaustive R&D and investment in emerging technology.
Current owners became full shareholders. The business begins to grow and prosper into a point-of-purchase signage printer. As Artisan begins to focus more on automated and digital printing systems, the company develops an international reputation for meticulous quality, control, state-of-the-art technology and expert personnel.

The first barcode scanner is put into use – ringing in a pack of Wrigley’s Gum.
1979
Retailers begin to embrace category management.
1985
Barcode scanning becomes an important part of retail and Point of Purchase measurement and strategy.
1987
Norway adapts RFID for toll booth collection.
1998
Artisan Display – later Artisan Retail – grows the Artisan brands to offer creative services, including concept and design for retail signage and structural design for permanent, semi-permanent and temporary displays.
1999
“Artisan Screen Print” becomes “Artisan Complete,” one of North America’s largest retail communications solutions providers.
2005
“Artisan Live” brings the promise of digital signage to the marketplace, including full consultation, strategy, creative services, production and integration with traditional POP solutions.
2005
UK retailing giant TESCO plans a digital signage network of 12,000 screens in 300 stores.
2006
Artisan Live emerges as a leading digital content creator and aggregator of technology for retailers, advertisers and digital signage networks.
2007
“Artisan Retail Ltd.” launches, working with brand marketers and retailers to provide retailer and vendor strategy, plus POP design for the entire store.
“Artisan Live Ltd.” expands to work with retailers, brands, agencies and venues to optimize the digital signage medium as a communications tool for marketing and merchandising applications in retail and out-of-home environments.
Artisan Complete receives its 50th POPAI/OMA award in the past six years – cementing its status as a pioneering Point of Purchase provider.
Artisan Complete renames its printing services under the brand name “Artisan Print+,” serving the needs of printing customers and Artisan Complete’s other brands. The “+” recognizes the extension of services to include colour management, project management, finishing, fabrication, and logistics for entire print campaign.
Artisan Complete offers their clients the “complete” package, by introducing installation services.
